Need a good place with lots of twisties, and places that are fun to drive overall? I've got a good one for you.

Linn Cove Viaduct in North Carolina. Lots of fun to drive, very twisty, very scenic, and just a great place to drive. It's by Grandfather Mountain, which is huge. If you ever get a chance, go, especially during fall.

The parkway is cool, but I always get stuck behind retired lawyers on harleys or people with Florida plates. Also, as cool as the BRP is, pretty much any of the more remote connecting roads are going to be better. For example, look at all of the white county and state roads around it. They're usually twistier, have no traffic, and there are more of them.

Ah, that makes sense. I didn't think of that. I haven't been to NC in a few years, but Linn Cove, at the time, stuck out the most.

whenever I go to the mountains and am going at a "comfortable" pace (not hauling ass) and catch up to someone it is a Florida plate 9 times out of ten (the other one is a greyhound bus... What part if "no commercial vehicles" do they not understand?

I used to live in the area. Large parts of it are really a driver's paradise. Just about any empty road is going to be a good one because of the terrain.

I've got family not too far from there, and when we go visit, I love it. Roan Mountain, Iron Mountain, the parkway, Mount Mitchell, all of them are gorgeous areas. Really nice overall.
